CIS University launches the 2024 / 2025 academic year with new facilities

CIS University has kicked off its 2024/2025 academic year with a series of meetings that marked the beginning of a promising semester. This year the university is introducing new facilities aimed at enriching and enhancing the academic and personal experience of its community.

The academic year got off to a great start with María Díaz de la Cebosa, President of CIS University, offering some words to the faculty and new students, inviting them to have an educational and prosperous semester. 

Francisco Ubierna, Academic Dean, and Mary McCarthy, Dean of Students, shared key details about the new academic year with the faculty, highlighting the mix of nationalities in the classrooms. The current ratio between national and foreign students is 55% to 45% respectively, with students coming from up to 41 different countries. This underlines CIS University’s commitment to an international and multicultural academic culture, which fosters both the intellectual and personal growth of its students.

Diversity is also a distinctive feature among the CIS faculty, with the significant presence of international professors. This multicultural landscape is part of the institution’s DNA and reinforces the values of inclusiveness and a variety of perspectives in a truly global educational environment.

During the orientation sessions, new students had the opportunity to get familiar with the wide range of resources and complementary activities available at the school designed to help them achieve their academic goals. These options include various student clubs, language exchange program, support workshops, mentoring programs, tutorials and individualized coaching.

The meeting culminated with a tour of the new campus facilities, which include additional classrooms, meeting rooms, an interactive lecture hall, and an innovative studio. The latter will become the production center for CIS University’s podcast, which aims for constructive dialogue and reflection on relevant global issues.

With a start to the academic year characterized by growth, and new areas of development for the student body, CIS University reaffirms its commitment to educational excellence and to fostering an informed community prepared for the global challenges of the 21st century.
