CIS University welcomes more than 150 international students this Spring Semester

By Álvaro Oliveros

CIS University has one of the most significant varieties of international students you can find on a college campus in Spain. This Spring semester, the University welcomed a total of 159 students of more than 36 different nationalities.

CIS University is known for its international program. Every year, plenty of new students from nearly every part of the world start their journey at CIS University’s campus in Madrid.

There are currently 46 continuing international students, 41 new international students, 51 Endicott College students, and 21 IDRAC Business School and ILERI students, said Niki De Palo, International Student Coordinator at CIS University. This is all thanks to the university’s commitment and experience in terms of making these students feel as if they were at home.

One of the main reasons this occurs is due to the international atmosphere on campus. The university experience at CIS University fully accommodates students of different nationalities since classes are taught in English and the university follows the American higher-education system. Madrid’s cosmopolitanism and attractiveness as a city also play an important role in the equation.

Moreover, the university offers a 2+2 program that is very appealing to many international students. It provides the opportunity for students to study two years in Spain and then to finish their last two years in a different country altogether.

“I came to CIS University because of their 2+2 program and because of the facilities and opportunities that they provide for their students,” said Marin Bosotina, a student from Croatia.

The University provides lots of tools to help international students. There is an international students office and special orientation workshops for support, as well as clubs, which offer the opportunity for everyone to get to know one another. The university also frequently organizes trips for international students so they have the chance to become better acquainted with their peers and also to discover the country on an even deeper level than would normally be possible.

“I feel very comfortable here. I get the opportunity to meet people from all over the world and to know people from my own country,” stated Emiliano Rivero, a Mexican student from CIS University.

“This is what makes this university such a special place. People from all over the world studying together and getting along. It is quite difficult to find what we have here anywhere else,” explained Marin Bosotina.
